My aunt and cousin are in town this week. My aunt just bought a house up here in Atlanta and will be moving in a few months. This week as she has been arranging things in her new house, I have been watching Catherine for her.

This morning the three of us headed to Lowe’s to pick up some items for the new house. Catherine apparently does not enjoy riding in shopping carts, and being the “cart pusher” I received the wrath that comes along with that dislike.

Leaving Lowe’s around lunchtime we headed back home, but made a slight detour to KFC. I have not been to KFC in over three years. I now remember why. The root beer float was great tho, I will admit that. We returned to the house with food, cleaning supplies, and a sleepy cousin, only to find that the A/C company technicians left with the task of clean the ducts, used their amazing skills and common sense to drag their equipment all over the newly laid and recently refinished hardwood floors, leaving scratches of grand canyon proportions throughout the first floor. That is not a good way for a company to get referrals, or to save money.

I have been pressed for time lately as I have been traveling so often and being away from home for long periods of time. I have been restricted with my work because most of it is online, and I need access to the internet on the go. My current phone was a replacement for a phone I had to throw away in Mexico before my return to the USA in June, so I did not have much time to think about exactly what I needed and would be using it for. I am pleased to say I finally ordered my iPhone 3G this afternoon and look forward to its arrival early next week. It will be a great tool for my work by allowing me much more constant access to my resources and easier more streamlined communication with clients.

I am in the process of booking my ticket to Spain for my November trip. I am working on applying to a translation and interpretation program at one of the universities there and will be spending some time at various universities, as well as at a YWAM base in the north. I will finish the trip with a short visit to Andorra. The side trip to Andorra is by far most exciting part of this entire planning process for me. I am excited to head over to Spain and meet face to face with some of the university staff, and get the ball rolling with my studies. I am ready to be back around Spanish speakers for a while.

After the excitement of the morning and early-afternoon died down, I had a few hours of rest before my plans for the night were to begin. I met a friend at Chili’s and we had a nice dinner before meeting some friends to see The Stepfather. The movie was intense, it did its job as a thriller, and there was plenty of suspense. Some of the movie was predictable, and some was drawn out a bit more than necessary, overall it was truly a great movie. After we regained our composure following the movie, and our heart rate returned to normal, we headed to Daniel’s house to play ping pong. We played while the girls watched, laughed, and sang. We had a short interruption, which was a Justin Beiber song on YouTube. After a few more minutes of intense ping pong I headed home to finish up the night.

So I am here now, talking to a few friends, working on a new blog entry, and trying to figure out some business ideas and projects for the upcoming months.

I have some goals that I set for myself a few months ago, but I never set a time frame for them. They are long term goals, but I did not even set up benchmarks to be checking my progress.

Today I sat down looked over my goals for the next 1, 3, and 5 years. I started organizing the upcoming date restricted goals and putting a time frame on them, and dates they need to be completed. Now all I need to do is sit back and let them take care of themselves…

TWITTER/LIFE: I changed my bio on Twitter. I was thinking over what message I am trying to convey through my online presence, and that is “Learning How To Live.” I want to learn each day and from every experience. Allowing my faith to guide me, and learning how every event and choice in life affects my future, I want to learn how to live, and to live in freedom.

What is your outlook on life? What do you hope to accomplish each and every day? Make it worthwhile, it is your future, it is your legacy.

Enough with all of the grown up stuff.

NEW PHONE: While getting into the whole online arena I have noticed my phone’s serious lack of everything. It has a horrible user interface, the QWERTY keyboard is too small, and certain keys always stick. It is only 3.5 months old and has been bounced, drop-kicked, and nearly demolished numerous times. For some annoying reason when it drops, the battery FLIES. As if it is not embarrassing enough to drop a phone in public, the fact that I always have to go scampering off to find the back cover and the battery which have both traveled unreasonably far, just adds insult to injury.

Now to the point of this rant…I am looking at new phones. I know most people don’t care. It really is not a big deal, but with all of the upcoming plans I have, which include travel and study time overseas, I have some things to sort out. Decisions, Decisions…

I am heading out to go run errands and start checking things off my to-do list for the day. I’ll be back later with some stories and videos(I hope). Enjoy.

Tweetie Twitter Client for Mac. Tweetie makes Tweeting easy, has a great layout, and is great eye-candy IMHO. The best part is that there is a free version, it is ad-supported, but for such a great program, I can gladly deal with them.

FOLLOWERS: I have been working on gaining followers on Twitter. My goal for today, is 10 new followers. It would be great if they are people who actually care what I tweet and blog about. Lets see how it goes. I am still looking for that 250 follower mark to give away the $25 iTunes Gift Card.

YOUTUBE: While making my way through the massive expanse of YouTube and tweeting @andrewWT I came across this great, random video, that made me laugh, I think you should watch it.

Light Writing in Mexico

RANT: I need a new digital camera, but I have not looked at point-and-shoot cameras in ages. Any ideas? I have my DSLR but it is horrible for traveling, especially backpack travel. It gets old having to empty my entire backpack going through security, one bin for every electronic device. I end up with 14+ bins by the time I have nearly stripped, and have to stroll through the metal detector barefoot and shivering, the 40lbs of warmth (hoodie, backpack, shoes, and electronics), slowly making their way through the metal detector, each in its own lonely cold gray plastic bin. So when all is said and done, before my next overseas journey I would like to find a great quality point-and-shoot for a decent price. At lest some of my travel headaches will be reduced.

TRAVEL: Since my June return to the U.S.A. from 6 months in Mexico, I have been planning my escape back to anywhere overseas. I am trying to head to Spain or Italy to study for a few years, and plan to eventually head to Andorra to settle down with my Italian bride and start a family. Step 1: Plane Ticket. I don’t mind where I fly into Europe, but I of course prefer the least expensive airport, with the best possible experience. Stories?!?!?

SLEEP: It is nearing 3:00AM so after a long day of traveling, attempted blogging, and tweeting away, I am going to retire to the warmth of my still unmade bed.

The Culprit

My problem is that I try to think of good and clever content, and it usually fails mid sentence because I’m having convos like this at the same time.

College? What’s that?

Sometimes I think to myself…what fail have I committed by not starting college yet? I like to think of all of this free time as an opportunity to learn in an alternative way. I am sure that I have gained a great deal of experience during the past few months, and every day I am learning new things. One thing I have enjoyed is how many new people I have met, and the things I learn from each of them, from their experience, creativity, and diverse background.

I am trying to get into a Translation and Interpretation program in Spain. I would really enjoy studying there, and that opportunity would be a huge advantage for me and my future career. I have run onto some obstacles with things such as finding the information I need to apply, and getting in contact with the correct people to answer my questions. It is not as common to be a full time non exchange student at a foreign university, so I have some hurdles to overcome, but I look forward to the end result.

One of my goals for 5 years out is to be fluent in Spanish, Italian, and Catalan, and to raise my comprehension level of French, Portuguese, Arab, Russian, and Mandarin. All of those languages are languages which the study program I am applying for works with.

MY LIFE: Most of you, if you personally know me, have been introduced to ANDORRA. It is a tiny country wedged between Spain and France. They speak Catalan, which is similar to Spanish and French. I would really love to live in Andorra in my later years(25+). I have decided that part of my plans are raising my trilingual+ future children with my Italian wife, in a humble home in Andorra, being able to home school them, work from home, and to raise them in such an awesome and exciting country.

What do I actually do all day? Besides waking up late, because I stay up so late, I have this oddly random list of things I actually do all day. I cannot figure out how this list works, being that I am 19. I work, doing accounting, I maintain a website, blog, and epic twitter account, I give financial advice, do laundry, occasionally mow the lawn, run errands, meet dad for lunch, look at colleges, look at airline tickets to Europe, and then repeat the cycle. Its strange. I cannot wait until I am in Europe tweeting from a café and blogging about all of the exciting and crazy experiences. For now I will just stick to my dreams, and random conversations for entertainment and blogging material!

CIRCLES:

I drove in circles today, about 52 circles in downtown Blue Ridge, Georgia. We were looking for a parking spot, on a rainy overcast day, in the middle of October, and there were none to be found. Normally I do not mind walking if I have the wonderful fortune to find a parking spot a ways down the road, but there were none. All we wanted to do was grab a bite to eat for lunch, but the 20 TON trucks with trailers, pulling trailers, pulling other trailers, seemed to be taking up about 99.987% of the parking spaces. We gave up.
